This year we decided to create a Christmas themed book and activity basket to bring all our festive items together in one place. This makes them easily accessible and really cuts down on searching time when seeking out our favourites!
At the beginning of December we went through our Christmas storage boxes and took out all our Christmas books. I like to keep these tucked away during the year so that they are special when they come out during the festive season.
We only have a small collection of these at the moment but I am hoping to add a couple more each year to slowly build our collection. This year we added the Christmas Snap game and and Mr Men 'The Night Before Christmas'.
We also added in a couple of Christmas DVD's, our Christmas Memory Match and our reindeer food, ready to to put out on Christmas Eve. At bedtime, the kids love to choose something from the box to read together and it has become a nice little tradition for the season.
Any basket or storage container will do, but we had this red basket tucked away in the cupboard from Harry's nursery so it has a new life now. This was a very quick organising project but one which the kids and I enjoyed doing together. :)
